The 4th International Conference on Textile Science and Engineering (ICTSE-2026) has commenced at the auditorium of the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). The international conference brings together researchers, academicians, industry experts, and policymakers from home and abroad to discuss textile science, engineering, innovation, sustainable production, and industry-academia collaboration.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), attended the event as the Special Guest.
The conference is chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Zulhash Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of BUTEX. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Bastian Quattelbaum, Ph.D., of Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Additionally, Michel Kokken, Head of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at OFI and Chair of the TWG for the Jute and Cocoa Sector at MOH, Netherlands, participated as a distinguished conference speaker.
The conference is organized by the Faculty of Textile Management and Business Studies (FTMBS), BUTEX. The Organizing Chair is Professor Dr. Ahashan Habib, Dean of the Faculty of Textile Management and Business Studies.
During the two-day event, participants will present and discuss research on a wide range of topics, including advanced textile and apparel technologies, applications of artificial intelligence, sustainable manufacturing systems, eco-friendly fibers, circular economy practices, and strategies for enhancing global competitiveness.
According to the organizers, this international conference will play a significant role in strengthening research, innovation, and industry-academia collaboration, thereby contributing to the continued growth and advancement of Bangladesh’s textile sector.
