To create employment opportunities for the new generation of textile engineers in Bangladesh, the much-anticipated “Career Fair 2026” was held at the campus of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). The day-long event took place on Thursday, April 23, in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
The fair was organized by the BUTEX Career Club, with support from the Institute of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET). The main objective of the event was to establish direct connections between students and leading textile industry organizations, while opening doors to real career opportunities.
The event was officially inaugurated at 9:00 AM by the Vice-Chancellor, Md. Julhas Uddin. From the very beginning, the campus came alive with the presence of enthusiastic job-seeking students. Carrying their CVs, they visited different company booths, interacted with representatives, and explored opportunities for jobs and internships.
This year’s fair featured participation from around 27 renowned textile and related industry organizations. Notable participants included Babylon Group, Ha-Meem Group, Pacific Jeans, Urmi Group, AKH Group, and Epyllion Group, among others. Several of these companies conducted on-the-spot interviews, offering students immediate opportunities to showcase their potential.
At 11:00 AM, a key panel discussion was held on the topic: “How Geopolitics is Impacting the Textile Industry and What Fresh Graduates Should Do.” The session featured experienced industry professionals including Tareq Amin, Mohammad Shahed Sikder, and Md. Nur Hossain. The discussion highlighted future challenges, skill development, and strategies to remain competitive in the global market.
At the end of the day, a closing ceremony was held, where the Vice-Chancellor Md. Julhas Uddin attended again as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Ehsanul Karim Kayser, Md. Enayet Hossain, and A.K.M. Mohsin Ahmed.
In the closing remarks, the organizers stated that such initiatives not only create job opportunities but also boost students’ confidence and build strong industry connections. They expressed their hope to organize even larger career fairs in the future.
One of the key attractions of the event was the Career Development Session, where experts conducted sessions on CV writing, HR perspectives, and career guidelines.
Overall, Career Fair 2026 served as an effective bridge for BUTEX students, connecting their academic journey with the professional world.
