Bangladesh is taking important steps to position itself in the global semiconductor industry, and the National Semiconductor Symposium & BEAR Summit 2026 marked a significant milestone in that journey. Held on 25–26 July at Novo Theatre, Dhaka, the event brought together policymakers, global technology leaders, researchers, and industry stakeholders to shape the country’s long-term semiconductor vision.
The summit, organised by the Ministry of Science & Technology, the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA), and Silicon River, centred on the theme: “Building Bangladesh’s Semiconductor Future through Global Partnership.”

The programme was inaugurated by Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman, who highlighted semiconductors as a potential next-generation export sector beyond ready-made garments, pointing to a global market expected to reach USD 1 trillion by 2030. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. M. A. Jabbar, President of BSIA and Managing Director of DBL Group.
Over two days, the summit featured participation from leading global semiconductor companies, including Texas Instruments, GlobalFoundries, NXP Semiconductors, and Yield Engineering Systems, alongside strategic panel discussions, research presentations, and the unveiling of eight national roadmap documents designed to accelerate Bangladesh’s semiconductor ecosystem.
